I'm sorry to hear about Simba as well. I think his picture was the first one I ever saw of a desert lynx and I knew right away that he was special. I'm glad he's still enjoying himself, eating and even calling the girls. I wish you lots of strength and support, Arlene, and I hope that the time you two have together is magical.
And I hope Kiki and Cappi's soon to be little critters bring some joy to your heart.

Oh man Arlene, That breaks my heart to hear about Simba. As you know he caught our eye when we found you, and I just had to have one of his kids. We are so sorry to hear this, and are keeping both of you in our thoughts...

Thanks Dan, Ali and everyone.. yes Simba is very special.. I don't think anyone has ever come to see the cats that didn't hold Simba :-) He loves company and to be held :-) Such a love and sweet beyond words.. so it is very heart breaking.. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life.. and must keep thinking of all the good times and the wonderful little ones he left for us to love..just looking at Cappi with her full belly of his babies makes me happy to know he will be leaving us with bundles of love.. Today I played with him and cuddled him also fixed up some steps for him to get to his shelf, in case he needs a little extra help in a few days or weeks or months, I don't know how long he has but right now he is a happy guy :-) thin, but still happy..he is still eating, drinking and pooping just fine and doesn't show any pain.. so that's good ..

I guess it goes with out saying how I feel about Simba, he is the father of almost all the kittens out there Jackie,. I can't help it he is so special .. Even when I still had Bear, his son Monster and Tarzan I just seamed like I chose Simba :-)
It could be just wishful thinking , and I'm sure it is, but he looks better to me.. I still need to weight him to be sure he isn't loosing more weight but if he is holding strong then the meds Rachel sent just might be the ticket.. My vet has heard of it and said to try.. sure can't hurt.. He doesn't use the steps I put in for him yet.. he just looks at them and then back at me as if to say "REALLY?" "I don't need no stinkin steps yet " :-)

I think I mentioned that I thought Simba was looking better but couldn't say for sure.... well.. yesterday the gal that comes 3 mornings a week came back from her week long ( 7) days vacation and she came up to the house to ask what happened to Simba.. my heart went in my throat as I started out the door to go to him.. she stopped me and said "NO, he's fine" She just expected to find that he had passed and when she saw him last ..she couldn't believe how good he looked.. so I guess it isn't my imagination after all, he is gaining some weight back, his hair has stopped falling out and he is doing so much better I have to thank Rachel for all she sent me for him.. so much good natural meds, he is responding to it like crazy! He is even excepting everything I give him and his appetite is back.. I started both Tarzan and MO on them now too.. I will post the web site for the natural cure for cat cancer for everyone if you would like.. Rachel is amazing, just wish I could get her to post She does email almost daily with pictures of Bean's and calls almost every other day with some thing else she has found for them and for me As for Kiki.. I don't think she has any tucked up in her but Cappi sure has a belly full of dancing kittens.. can't wait to see what she has this time We are surrounded with wild fires and heavy smoke for the past week.. it is so think .. the base camp is at the lake so we have a lot of activity going on over head with the planes and helicopters going all the time.. over 7,000 fire fighter are here fighting the fires.. over 117,000 acres have burned so far but we feel safe with base camp across the street from us.. I just hate the smoke and it is bad for the animals as well as the people.. Well that's my update for now.. we have the dog gathering this weekend and we will be crazy with people all over the place for 3 or 4 days.. they are coming from as far away as 3 couples from Sweden!! I think I will hide ;D

Great news about Simba!!! I would love info Rachel has to share I was watching on the news about the fires you were experiencing. Those fire fighters are pretty amazing. Very few homes burnt from what they reported and they are still out there making sure there isn't any underground fires too! Have fun with the dogs and all their people they are bringing to the party

I'm so happy to hear about Simba and how he's gaining weight. Sorry to hear about the fires, but I'm glad Arlene that you and everyone else including the animals are safe. I hope you enjoyed the gathering with the dog owners. I can't wait to hear about Cappi's belly full of babies. I think I see a drive up to Oregon coming up in a couple of months at long last, after a couple of false starts. Woo hoo! Ali

Yes, it looks very promising.. the 5 surrounding fires are still raging and only one is 15% contained the others are still going full !! Very scary and also very smoky.. we can't see the Mt. around the property or even most of the property.. but we are hopeful Of coarse a full belly is always a good sign.. now as to what's in Cappi! That's always the question.. better get ready to roll this time Ali !!!

I made it through the dog gathering and didn't have to be bailed out for killing anyone, so it was a good gathering.. way too long but it all ended last night at 10:00 PM.. I was so over ready for it to be done since they started arriving on Wed!! Some came from Finland and Sweden as well as Holland so we had close to or over 50 here in all including people from the far corners of the U.S. and Canada!! Cappi is getting ready to do her thing.. her belly has dropped and she keeps sticking her butt in my face.. it's like she is saying.. "Are they coming yet? Can you do your thing mom and take them out" ;D I was very excited to see Ladybuggs is back, I got a sweet email from her with some great pictures of Elly and asked her to post them for the contest.. but I see she looked in on us but ...where are the pictures Lori

Sweden, Holland, and Canada. Wow, and do they all bring their dogs? That sure is a long way to travel. And I'm glad no one had to bail you out.
As for Cappi's belly, go Cappi go!!

Yes, almost all brought their dogs with them.. But 2 of the over seas couple did not.. It is a very long trip for a animal but some are used to it.. we have one fellow that makes the trip yearly from Switzerland and has for the past 8 yr's.. he takes his dog EVERY WHERE .. so the dog just goes to sleep for the flight and is not stressed at all, just so used to it There was a set back with Simba.. he was not well for a few days but today he seems a bit better.. just so thin, it breaks my heart.. we spend time together in his compound with him in my lap and he really enjoys it.. me too Cappi & belly are till together.. I check all day and night but so far she isn't showing any signs of labor.. just doing a lot of digging and making a mess of the birthing box.. so with her actual due date of this Friday.. it could be any day now or next week, never know !!
