I just got a email from Sherri asking about a tree and if I put one up.. Is she kidding?? :-) She sure gave me a chuckle.. NOPE!! No tree in this house.. I put up a few decorations but many years ago, about 15 I put up the last tree.. what a mess they made of it, so the next year i hung one from the ceiling, almost drove them crazy leaping and jumping in the air, one actually jumped from the back of the couch to the tree and just hung there ;D So no more tree for us..But if you are going to do one, just make sure the balls are not made of glass and that you don't use tinsel! Tinsel is a magnet for them and if they eat it ( and they will) it will wrap around the intestines and kill them so NO TINSEL if you put up a tree.. and if you do.. GOOD LUCK ! ;D

Ours is up, had one every year. The trick here is not to make a big deal out of it, and let them watch you put it up. Scooter likes to lay under it sometimes, but leaves everything alone. As new gifts arrive he will 'inspect' them, but that's it. Sugar also has a Christmas Village that she sets up on the fireplace hearth. Last year, Scooter took a walk right through the middle of town. I'm sure he terrified all the tiny shoppers, carolers and generally festive ceramic town folk, with his Attack Of The 50 Foot Cat impression. Not a plastic tree was left standing, and the foundation to the bank was slightly damaged... Jenny, of course, is afraid of the both the tree and the village...

Okay...see Arlene...there is hope for some of us!!! I put up a 3' tree w/shatterproof balls on a table, gifts all around so nowhere to jump at the moment. I'm sure when the gifts move..Ollie will be inspecting. Cristen has a little white tree in the guest house and Cooper wipes it clean everyday. I didn't see one ball on it last night. I did have a very cool raindeer on top of the window cornice...which Ollie took one leap from the back of the couch, balanced between the cornice edge and window molding and batted old Rudolph off! The hanging tree would definitely not work with Oliver.

I mentioned to Dave, as he was setting up the tree a few weeks ago, to make sure and keep breakable stuff out of kitty reach. He took the below pic and asked me "Just where might that be?". Luckily they tend to leave the tree alone...

We had a little one last year and they left it alone. Gizmo was just a baby. No tree this year but we will have one next year in the new house. We may have 4 kitties by then too....(right Ron?) I'll be sure to keep you up to date with that ;D

I love it.. Dan you just have one, well I know you also have Jenny but as for the Desert Lynx, you have one.. he is a pretty good boy. Wen you said something about Sugars village I had to laugh.. My sister has a village she puts up every year and it is a huge one that covers a whole corner of a room.. I can just see our cats with that! No, the hanging tree didn't work either. like I said one of them ( I can't remember which) jumped form the back of the couch and climbed up to the top.. nothing is safe with them. ;D. Of coarse Latte' and a few of her merry band love to jump up on the corneas as well, so can't hang anything from them.. they even climb the wall's they go from picture to picture. like Tarzan swinging threw the trees..brats! My cats are always wired, I think they feed of each others energy, so all it take is for one to get excited and they all go nuts..So Jackie, it was just a normal day at my Zoo. ;D I'm so surprised they haven't unwrapped any presents.. I know I can't leave one out or it's shredded.. I keep everything in the guest room till its time :-) I can't even wrap a gift with out the squirt gun to keep them from unwrapping as fast as I wrap.. just such brats!! But lovable brats :-)
