I KNOW I'VE BEEN 'MIA' FOR A WHILE, BUT WE HAD SO MUCH RAIN . ON FRIDAY WE HAD 4" IN 24 HOURS AND WE WERE FLOODED! IT WAS ALMOST KNEE DEEP AROUND OUR HOUSE AND ALSO THE BOYS CATTERY. THE WATER WAS GOING OVER THE BRIDGE ON OUR PROPERTY.. WE SAW ALL KINDS OF THINGS FLOATING BY US, EVEN ONE OF THE PLANKS KIM PUT DOWN FOR ME TO WALK ON..SO SCARY! KIM HAD PUT DOWN CEMENT BLOCKS WITH BIG 4" THINK 14'' WIDE PLANKS FOR ME TO TRY AND GET TO THE CAT'S.. IT HELPED, BUT THE WATER GOT TO WITH IN 1'' OF GOING IN THE BOYS CATTERY. IT WAS VERY SCARY TO SAY THE LEAST.. I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TO PUT 4 BREEDING MALES.. NOT EASY, THANKFULLY I DIDN'T HAVE TO BECAUSE KIM AND HIS DAD USED THE BACKHOE TO CUT A DRAINAGE DITCH TO HELP DRAIN THE WATER TO ANOTHER DIRECTION, AWAY FROM US... IT'S STILL RAINING BUT THE FLOOD IS GONE. WE JUST HAVE ANKLE DEEP MUD NOW SO I'M ALL BETTER NOW, ALMOST HAD A STROKE. MY BLOOD PRESSURE WENT SO HIGH I WAS 2 CLICKS FROM A STROKE..

That must have been quite the scary thought! I know you would have found space for them but I'm sure no one would have been happy about it. Glad to hear that Kim was able to avert disaster!
I'll be hoping the rain will stop for you soon!

Boy, that sounds real scary with all that rain. We've had some floods down here in Southern California in the last couple of years. I'm always amazed how quickly water can rise and create threatening situations. I'm glad to hear you, your house, and the kitties are all ok. I wish you lots of sunshine in the next few days to dry out that mud.

Wow Arlene, scary stuff indeed! Floods are no joke, water can take everything when it wants to, and there is no stopping it. Glad to hear you are drying back out now, the worst is past, I hope.
How'd the Indian Dogs fare through it?
I'm assuming you have flood insurance? If not, I'd be getting some ASAP...
Glad you, the cats and Kim are all okay.

Most is back to normal again, we even have a sunny day today I still couldn't open the catteries to let them run in their compounds because the mud is still deep, but with the sun today and almost 70 out, tomorrow ( if it doesn't rain again ) it should be nice for them to go out and enjoy some spring air ;D

Glad you all got through that scary time! How did the dog get through it? Water has a power all it's own. I've been carried out of my house and into a boat in the past! No fun! Sending sunny thoughts your way
