Hello all
Well, we have been in our new home for one week now. The kids have adjusted very well (of course we are all over them like new parents) Today is Fathers Day and hope any Dads out there had a good time with their kids....be them furry or with skin
We had a last minute idea to have our step daughter, her husband and 2 small boys stay for dinner. Our first dinner in the house (proper dinner) They have Nic-6 and Lucas-4. Nic is the quiet boy that doesn't get into much mischief. Then there Lucas....the one that sucks in to blow his nose...loud...why why why and 100.10% go go go. Both boys are lovely and Lucas with that rotten smile that melts your heart and gets him everywhere fast.
Well...he grabs Grampa and with great concern tells him how a cat got past him...ran out the door and onto the grass and up a tree back in the forest. Ron was SICK with worry. Little Lucas led his Grampa onto the grass and showed him where 'our kitty' went. My goodness, Ron was so upset he had to take a slow walk around and just called for Emma (we found Blue and Giz) I figured from the start that our fraidy cat Em hadn't appeared since the arrival of our company...let along go anywhere new near the loudest child only to run out into the wilderness!!! She's never felt grass so I could not even see her going on it. I just remember the first day I carried her out to the car and ended up going back into the house(backwards) ...laying on the floor and waiting for her nails to release on my back!!! Ron and I say she's the most beautiful but the most particular/shy out of the 3.
I hinted to our company that once they ...ahem... left, Emma would come out from where she was hiding and all would be fine.
Ron was fully prepared to grab a sleeping bag and go sleep in the forest, waiting for her to go to him, curl up and sleep. Hey was practically in tears. The kids left and we proceeded to call our Emma with "Treats" She was upstairs under the love seat the entire time.
Just like I said.
Ya...it's now raining. Ron would be out there and Emma would be cozy and curled up on his blanket...nice and warm upstairs. Ron said it was like loosing a daughter to him
I thinks it's kinda cute...but I knew all along it would be fine. My poor big strong manly mountain of a man...he loves his kitties
I knew little Lucas was mistaken all along...there's a black cat that I've seen around and when asked what colour the cat was he said Black. Poor little Lucas was made to be so concerned about the kitties getting out he thought it HAD to of been one of ours. Sweet honest little 4yr old.
