Boy, I must be doing it all wrong.. my DLX don't look anything like that  Speaking of.. I'm about to toss MeMe in the creek again Dan.. I know you wish you would have taken her but man is she ever something ! Just had to put Monster back in with her as she is for sure not going to have kittens, she is back in full blown season and I just want to shoot her. BRAT!  She always has to give the boys a real hard time ( No pun intended ) |

Well, she is Scooter's brother, so it's in the jeans, so to speak. He's great with us, but just harasses poor neurotic Jenny to no end...

I really feel so sorry for Jenny. If Scooter is half as bad as MeMe is, then Jenny needs a hiding place .. MeMe is a hand full to deal with and man does she ever get into it with her mother.. yup, they can't stand each other and give dirty looks from across the cattery at each other, or upon occasion the fur fly's.  She does the same with the guys.. She is a real "Tom" girl :-) The funny thing is she is such a snuggler and a lover with us.. sigh. She runs to me every morning and jumps into my arms from where ever she is.. she love her piggy back rides like Bull and just wants to be with me all the time.. they all do, wish they could all live together with us in the house, can you imagine that!!  |

Scooter is more smart-ass than truly mean, he doesn't attack her as much as he just messes with her. He just want's Jenny to play with him, and will bat at her, take her toys, push her off of the food bowls, run at her at 40 MPGH and then jump over the top of her, wake her up, etc., etc., etc...
We've commented more than once that he's just bored. If he had a friend that would do more than hide under the bed, I'm sure they would be playing all the time. The worry is that then Jenny would be the third wheel, and really be a recluse. There are times when Scoots is asleep, and she will annoy him too. That, really makes us laugh as he'll get the, "Hey, what's up with that" look on his face, and then it's game-on...

I think Jenny would really like to play, only she doesn't know how poor baby. I have to tell you I have a great affection and soft spot for Jenny, just something about her that tugs at my heart strings  I think a little girl friend for Jenny to snuggle with is what she needs and for Scooter.. about 5 more guys to wrestle with should do it ;D |

Thanks Arlene, we do too. She usually gets a hair cut every spring, but Sugar is balking this time, says she's too old and it's hard on her. She is always more frisky after she's trimmed, and I know she's happier, but the process is tough on her. The before and after pics are priceless, I'll post some if we decide to give her the summer clip...

She's a long hair, and miserable in the summer with it. She'll flatten herself out on the tile trying to stay cool, and gets lethargic. After she gets clipped, she goes into kitten mode and is much more comfortable and frisky. It's one of those risk vs. benefit things. She hates us for the hour it takes us to clip her, but loves us the rest of the summer for having it done... |

OK, I understand now.. It would make her feel better to have shorter hair but there is this little thing called A/C that also works funny she doesn't look like she has long hair.. maybe it's because you clip her :-) |

There's A/C but it's set at 82 when we both go to work, 78 when we are home. She gets uncomfortable around 75. Keeping it that cool in here would bankrupt us in very short order. There's hot, and there's Las Vegas Hot. We go for several months in the summer when the low doesn't go below 90. And until you've felt 115 degrees, that lasts for 6 hours a day, you don't know what Hot really is... She's as long as she has ever been right now, and looks nice, actually. Here's a couple recent photos of her, one of her doing her ant-eater impression...   |
