Just wanted to say Hi to every one again.. I've been out of it for a few days.. had a back procedure done and had to stay laying down.. well of coarse that didn't happen :-) We also have a old friend here from Mich ( Retired Police Chief) so we have been having some time Catching up.. he has 2 of our dogs and was here to pick up another new pup as one of his was just put to sleep.. all in all they have had 6 or 7 dogs from us over the many years. We are also starting to work on the gathering for the dogs,, people calling and already starting to head our way.. I don't know how many are coming but I think the last count was around 25 couples, a few single people on top of that as well as probably a few rug rats just for the heck of it.. So I'm getting ready to get my B%#^* on for that Tried to breed Kiki and Simba but she is not really ready yet but she is thinking about it :-) Still not sure about MeMe.. I have a feeling she is still not preg but then she has fooled me before. I believe she is a hermaphrodite, had another female like that and it is so hard to get them preg!! They would rather fight then make love :-) Kind of hard on the guy's.. BTW when the other girl was ready to be retired I had her spayed and then the Vet had to go inside of her and remove the testicles, as they don't drop.... ( big bill on that one) ..If MeMe is a hermaphrodite, you dodged a bullet on getting her to go with you Dan.. wise man that you are, you just knew she was trouble didn't you ? I'm sure Jenny thanks you So that kind of brings you all up to date on what's been going on here.. ( If any one cares) ;D

Hope the back procedure was a small one. I have several friends that have had back surgeries, some came out well, others not so much. A guy I work with was read-ended on his work bike at 85 MPH by a drunk. Broke his pelvis and and screwed up his back. It's been over two years, and he'll never be 100% He has a special seat on his new work bike with a backrest. He got a flat tire Thursday, and had to have his bike towed to the shop. The mechanics were all gone for the day, so he took a spare bike with a stock seat. Half an hour later, he went home sick because his back hurt due to the seat. Back problems suck, I'm lucky not to have any, and if I did, I'd think long & hard before I let a doctor cut on me. Seems they often do more harm than good...
The dog reunion sounds fun! At least you guys have lots of room for them to run around your property, both kids and dogs!
Actually, Sugar & I have kicked ourselves 100 times for not taking MeMe home with us when we picked up Scooter. Jenny is so neurotic that Scooter often has no one to play with, and like most gifted kids, he gets bored. He makes a mess with his food, just to get us to clean it up for him. As soon as we pick up the kibble, he'll drag another mouthful out onto the kitchen floor, and then watch us pick it up for him again. He has us trained pretty well...
We see cats & kittens all the time at Petco and PetsMart. The humane society brings out strays all the time for adoption events, and we've come close to getting Scooter a "normal" friend several times. They had a "Forrest Cat", a black & white domestic short hair, once and it took everything we had to hold out for that snow leopard. Still keeping our fingers crossed that I'll see a post one day here that the stars aligned and there is snow in Oregon for us. Scooter really needs a playmate, and while we love Jenny, she is not a very good friend for poor Scoots to play with. He'll try to get her to play, but she'll just slink off and hide. Then, he gets an exasperated look on his face and wanders off to find something else to do...

This was just a small one. Had the steroid injection. I have a failed back.. all the disks are a mess. I was hit head on by a illegal drunk many decades ago.. I was in a wheel chair for over 2 years till we found 2 DR that would try to help me.. I had 3 laminectomy's and a triple fusion.. and have suffered with it for a long time.. I go in about every other month to do a part of my spine. They can only do a little at a time and now with the kidney failure I can't have the full dose of twilight good stuff, so it is very painful to go thru and it takes me a day or so to get over it.:-) I go back on the first for other parts of my back. Yeah, we have a lot of land for kids and dogs to run around on BUT!! They are not all cat friendly dogs so they go up to my cattery and bark at the cats.. Of coarse they aren't going to just sit there and take it so they charge the fence and the dogs charge .. then there are kids all over the place running, wanting to play with the cat's, take them out. run in and out of the house and leave the door open so the house cats get out.. it is really not a fun thing for the cats to go thru.. so I get really crabby and usually wind up throwing everyone out of the house and just being a real crabby old lady!!.. Besides every one in and out to use the bath room the whole weekend..... I do like to see some of them but then there are others I can so do with out! :-) Tomorrow will be a very tough day for me so I might be off line for a little while.. My sweet wonderful "Smooth Talker" will be leaving us tomorrow. I have a appointment with the vet to put her to sleep.. She has cancer of the mammary glands. I can tell it is now in her lungs as well, so the time has come .. and I don't want her to suffer thru this weekend with kids.. so I have no idea why I am writing all this but there it is. I'll let you all know how it goes.. also send a picture or two .. but maybe Rachelle will finally get on the forum and post some pictures.. she is bringing her kitten "Beans" with her but I believe she will not bring her to the actual gathering but leave her at the motel.. after all a cat at a dog gathering is not a real smart thing to bring.. She asked if she could bring Beans and I said she sure could and she could also bring cold slaw! ;D

I wanted to wish you well after monday's tough vet stop. I'm sorry to hear about Smooth Talker. It sounds like you had to let her go, which I know is the toughest thing for us humans. I know animals accept it so much better when it's time for them. I hope she had an easy time. But my heart goes out to you. Hopefully, your back is doing better after your injection so you can enjoy some of the festivities with the gathering.

Thanks Ali,.. I'm fine.. it's hard but in another way this time it was a peaceful passing for her. They say when you leave, your life flashes before your eye's.. well when I have to help one of mine go, their life flashes before my eye's.. I see all the beautiful babies they leave behind, I remember them as babies and little things they did and the way each one does something a little different and special onto them selves.. Now on a lighter note.. or should I say a different subject.. Miss Priss MeMe is back in season once again !! big heavy sigh.. so she is back in with Monster yet again ! Also Kiki is ready to give it another go but think I'll let her wait just a few more days so she is good and ready :-) Sometimes I wish I had just regular domestics.. they just get pregnant at the drop of a hat but theses guys sure do give me fit's.. but they are so worth it :-) To me anyway

Giving you fits is part of how they let you know they are p-r-e-c-i-o-u-s! Let's see what Monster thinks.

So// Cat got your tongue?? ;D Boy you guys are sure quiet! Well the gathering was a lot of fun this year.. had a great group of people .. no kids this year and dogs all under control as well.. so it was really great! Now for a up date.. Monster and MeMe were bred ( YET AGAIN) also Kiki and Simba, and as soon as Cappi comes back in season she will also go in the ring for a turn.. Man, one of these silly girls better get pregnant soon ! I would be delighted if they would all deliver a few new kids for me :-) Does anyone know a fertility dance

I don't know about the others, but I'm staying quiet cause I figure maybe Monster and MeMe or Kiki and Simba need some quiet time to get them in the mood for romance. As for a fertility dance, I think I saw one on youtube, but that was for the bees. I don't know how well it'll work on cats

Right about now I will take the bee fertility dance or any kind there is.. ALL the girls are back in season !! So Kiki is back in with Simba AGAIN!! When they are finished then MeMe will go back in with Monster and I guess Cappi will go with Simba or Tarzan.. not sure yet, all I know is I'm about to give up !! I just feel so bad for the people waiting for their kittens.
