I'm always off on Mondays, but Sugar usually works.
We are having the kitchen, living room and den painted on Wednesday, so we are removing everything from the walls and moving it to the back bedroom, as well as moving bookcases and other stuff that's in the way, to get ready for them. So, we are laboring on labor day. And our back bedroom looks like an episode of "Hoarders, Buried Alive"...
Is Patches over growling when she eats?

What color are you painting?? Blue Just kidding, some how the color blue of "your" house doesn't bother me at all, it even looks kind of pretty ..I guess when you like the people, then it's different.. Our craft room looks like the "Hoarding" house as well.. Kim has his daughter and granddaughter staying with us till the can find a place of their own.. so since the baby is not quite 3.. we had to collect up almost everything from the guest room and low levels.. it's all piled up in the craft room.. The cat's are hating it Yes, Patches has calmed down a lot, she is still very protective but she just lays across the food now if another cat comes close to her area, no more growling. I think the fact that she has gone from just under 4# up to almost 7 now has made a big difference She was almost starved to death when I found her so I understand ..thanks for asking about her.

No, no more blue. We've been in this house for 12 years, and the last one for 10, and it was blue too. Kinda getting tired of it. We are going with a light gray, with a darker gray on the accent walls. Sug & I did both bedrooms and the hallway ourselves. Turned out pretty good, but the remaining areas are harder, and what everyone else sees, so we wanted it done right, and frankly, it's a miserable job. For what we are paying a painter, it's worth it to us. Also, I had a condensate line break on the A/C unit in the garage. Found my garage ceiling on the garage floor about two weeks ago. Turned in an insurance claim, so the same guy that is doing the garage is doing the painting. Saved a bit as he is going to be here doing the garage anyway. Glad to hear Patches is doing well. Good on you for saving her, and getting her back in good health. Maybe Mama Kitty sent her your way... Oh, here's a pic of our back bedroom where all the crap we took out of the kitchen, den and living room are being stored. I'm pretty OCD, so it's already driving me nuts...

LOL!! LOOKS LIKE MY CRAFT ROOM!! OH MAN DON'T EVEN GO THERE WITH '' OCD'' MAKE EVERYONE CRAZY WITH MY PICKING EVERYTHING UP.. IT has TO GO IN THE RIGHT SPOT OR I GET ITCHY! ( WITH a 'B');D NO,NO DON'T EVEN GO THERE WITH MY 'MOMMA KITTY'' SENDING PATCHES TO ME.. I HAVE TO FIND HER A GOOD HOME.. SHE JUST LOVES TO BE HELD AND LAY IN YOUR LAP.. NOT REALLY HAPPY WITH OTHER CAT'S.. BUT ALSO DOESN'T SEEM AGGRESSIVE WITH THEM, JUST DOESN'T LIKE THEM.. SO THIS IS NOT THE HOUSE FOR HER SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE GARAGE THING BUT IF YOU GET A NICE PAINT JOB OUT OF IT FOR A BIT MORE THEN IT JUST MIGHT BE GOOD.. HOPE YOUR BIKE AND CAR DIDN'T GET DAMAGED.. THE GRAY SOUNDS NICE.. IT WILL ALSO GIVE THE COOL FEELING YOU LIKE AFTER A LONG HARD DAY RIDING A BIKE IN THE HEAT STAY SAFE

Wow Dan, I love the accent wall idea. I did one room last year in my house with an accent wall, and it really made a huge difference. It makes everything on that wall p-o-p with excitement. And Arlene, Patches sure knows she'll be taken good care of in your house. I had a quiet Labor Day, and worked some around the house but just drove up today from LA to the East Bay/Oakland area for a meeting tomorrow and Friday. I got a chance to visit with my mom and sister a little earlier today, since they live close to San Jose, so overall it's been a decent week so far.I hardly ever get to leave LA, and sometimes it feels like the concrete jungle is all there is. By the way, I showed my mom and sister a few of the photos of the desert lynx from the website and they both just loved the pictures. I told them I may be able to get one in the next three or four months depending on how well the Spanish Fly Arlene is using in the catnip works

Thanks Ali, it is turning out nicely. All we've done is live in this house for 12 years, it was past due for some changes and clean up.
It's always nice to get out of town, and visit your family. I lived in Sunnyvale for about a year back in the early 80's. North Bay is soooo different than the Southland. I would love to live in California, it's so beautiful and vibrant! But it's expensive, and some of the regulations are deal breakers. We go to the Central Coast about once a year, and I always end up grabbing Real Estate brochures while we are there. We love the area, but unless we lived in a shack, it's just out of our price range...
Too funny with the Spanish Fly!!! Maybe we need to send Arlene some Kitty Porn to get the party started...

Dan, you're right. California is sure expensive. Although these last few years with the economy as it has been, property values have gone down some. The Central Coast is especially pretty. I drove through that stretch yesterday and I could see you wanting to look at brochures. It sounds like you've got a great place out there in Vegas with the outdoor stream for Scooter to lounge around in (when it's dry that is).
As for the Spanish fly, Arlene, maybe the kitties will respond to some Spanish love song. There was that Disney cartoon called Aristocats, which I loved as a kid. Maybe there's a clip from that we can send you to show Simba and Kiki to get them in the mood. I seem to remember the songs there got the cats to fall in love. Not quite kitty porn, but maybe easier to find on youtube!

Well, for right now Kiki and Simba are sharing the breeding area.. not much action. She was acting like she was coming in season so I brought Simba in and put them together.. I don't see much in the action dept.. but maybe they wait till it's dark Cappi might also be coming in soon and for Pete sake, it looks like MeMe might be too!! I was hoping she was already pregnant.. sigh.... I might have 3 litters at the same time Sure hope not.. I like to play with them a lot and if I have 3, well, depending on the size of each litter.. I guess I just might have a pile of little ones.. wishful thinking, I'll be very happy to have one!! Hay Dan,, why not come up a bit further and look in Southern Oregon I'll even send you real estate flyer's if you want

Well, good luck with the breeding, hope something sticks this time...
We've talked about Oregon, Brookings mostly. I was in Denver for a few days, and one of the guys we spent time with was from Portland. He likes living there, but says the rain all winter is a bit much. I guess the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence...

Unless you're in for sun all the time though, I'd rather have the rain all winter than snow :-) Being from Seattle, I'm used to it and don't mind it TOO much. All of the other perks make up for it, too.

Yup, copy that. I grew up in snow country, and left when as soon as I could. The running joke used to be, "If summer comes on a weekend this year, we should go on a picnic."
Go watch the movie Fargo, it was pretty much spot on weather wise. Never again for me...

Well, you were in the wrong area.. we do get rain here.. not as much as in the north end of the state. However I do have to say last year with that big rain we had and the flood was not fun! Thankfully it doesn't happen often. We don't get much snow here either.. we are in what is known as the "Banana Belt" so when/if we get a few inches of snow, it's always gone by the end of the day or the day after.. I love to look out and see a winter wonderland for a few hours.. but then it's gone. Since it comes and goes so fast we never have to shovel snow.. just put the old 4x4 in 4 wheel drive and I'm off to do whatever .. You can keep your furnace blistering 9 to 10 months of heat, dust storms, and earthquakes.. BTW.. I do believe... "LOVE IS IN THE AIR" SO JUST MAYBE SOON WE WILL SEE SOME REAL ACTION .. A LITTLE RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE WILL BE VERY NICE TO HEAR
