I found a site that has some cool stuff for kitties.. it does allow them to go out and play. As some of you know, I have a in/out window for my house baby's to go out into the chain link enclosure I have for them.. but this is also interesting.. just thought I would send the info to the forum www.cagesbydesign.com suncatcher-walk-in-outdoor-catenclosures

Here's one that a foster family built for their foster cats from Seattle Humane. I want to do something like this for Shadow and Stealer... From the builder/owner: "It is 12' x 6' with the plastic chicken wire around the outside. It took a couple of days to build. It is built on our deck so we lost some deck space. The cover was from a 9'x12' dog kennel that we orginally had for them but with this they have access by themselves and we don't have to move them. We found cat doors that you can put in the window screen and it is built right next to the house so all we do is open the window and they can go out. I found that if you have more then 2 or 3 cats they think it is "cool" to control the doorway (but I am sure that is just OUR kids that do things like that!) so I had to built a second access from another room so thay have to share the space! Last year in the snow I took the cover off because of the snow was building up on top and didn't want to tear it.When it gets cold our kids are whimps and they don't want to go outside that much anyway. I also got clear peel and stick plastic insulation for windows and put it on the screen and just cut the cat door out so we can leave it open and not a ton of cold air comes in. Fun project that they really enjoy, it is really easy with a nail gun, wood and paint!"

I couldn't get your link to open, Arlene???
Looks like a neat project, wish we had enough outdoor space to build something like that. A buddy at work bought a bunch of lumber and carpet, and built cat-walks, literally, to screw to his walls. He has a two story house and has them going all over the place. Up the stairs, perimeter of the living room and den, and down the halls. He says his cats love it!

Okay, got it Arlene. Yeah, pretty cool but out of my price range. $2500 or so for a 6' octagonal one. Ouch...

WHOA NELLY!! Holy crap! That is WAY out of my price range as well. I didn't look at the prices. I still think a the chain link panels are the way to go.. I just use the one side that goes against the house as a top for it and open the window.. a lot cheaper, maybe not as pretty but

Yeah, the Ultimate 10.5'X12' is on sale for $5787.95 I could build a pretty nice cat palace for six grand. For that money, I'd live in it and let the cats have my bedroom...

I like Deb's idea. Build it yourself, save the money and have a really nice enclosure for the cats to play in. Looks nice, Deb, great idea!

SIX G's??? Man you could really screen in a back patio or deck for a heck of a lot less and be able to sit out WITH the cat's and everyone could enjoy it, also have enough left over for new patio furniture and still not even get close to that Well, sorry guys.. I should have checked a bit more before I posted that
