Just had to share a quick story regarding Scooter this morning..I usually get up a little earlier on Saturday mornings than Dan does and Scooter always gets up with me. I head for the kitchen to get the coffee started and he sits in front of the pantry door and squeaks...cause it's Saturday and he knows it is special "breakfast time"..that is wet food..

So, this morning I get his special "breakfast" in the bowl, heat it to the correct tempurature and put it on his mat. He eats what he wants then goes off to play and terrorize Jenny for a moment then will come back and resume cleaning out the rest of his wet breakfast. Well, I'm sitting having my coffee, looking at some catalogs of gadgets and such, watching the weather, all is quiet and calm...of of a sudden I hear this "tink, tink, tink" sound..now our kitchen table is glass so you can see the food mat and the cats to see who is doing what or eating what...so when I heard this noise, I looked thru the table to see Scooter lying on his side, wrapped around the dry food bowl with both paws pulling the glass special "breakfast" bowl towards him..now this goes on for a good 3 to 4 minutes, constant tink , tink until he finally gets the bowl in both from paws, turns it on its side and finishes the special "breakfast" without ever getting up, standing up or moving any closer to that bowl. Wish I had had the video camera. Not sure if he is clever or lazy, but it is the funniest thing to watch him work that bowl to his advantage. And oh, he also lays on his side to eat his dry food and drink his water!! What happens when Jenny shows up to eat from the bowl that Scooter is wrapped around? She gets a paw in the center of her head and he holds her off so she doesn't disturb his area!! She just stares at him with this look like "seriously dude"... Oh , the one thing Jenny has taught Scooter? How to open the pantry door!!

These DLX are so 'creative'!!! If there is a strange or different way to do something, they'll find it. Loved the whole picture of Scooter eating his Saturday breakfast! You definitely have a good way with a story!

Yes...you really do Sugar! Totally saw it through your words! Emma has been trying to get into one of our closet doors lately...so far...no luck.
The boys tend to dig beside the drinking fountain when they are drinking. Emma just likes to dig for that elusive gold fish in the center of it Finally found a mat that stays put and keeps the fountain in the same place....almost.

I use the regular (well, they have Roosters on them) rubber backed kitchen rugs and that seem to deter Scooter from trying to move the rug and bowls..he doesn't like the rubber feel on his feet, so when he does get a corner turned up, he usually looks at me to fix it. Oh, and Scoots has almost figured out how to open a door by pulling down on the handle (we have those french style handles on all the doors) watched him the other morning trying to open a door and was stunned that he almost got it.. these are definitely intelligent critters!!

Ron thinks it's so funny to tease the cats with the water tank. I nagged at him not to do that cause one day they'll figure it out. All you have to do in push the leaver down. Well guess what...Gizmo figured it out yesterday!!! Now we have to get a new water tank cause I'm not gonna be pleased when I come home and our kitchen is flooded. We have laminate!

Yes, they are so smart, Mr. Big Stuff has been working on our door.. he wants it open, but his paws slip.. good thing we have round nob's or he would be "OUT" or "IN" depending on which side of the door he is on and he is always on the wrong side if you ask him. :-) Mine used to like to work the fridge door water so we had it disconected :-) They will for sure flood the house if you let them.

The other night Kim & I woke to the light going on in the bathroom and the water running,, so Kim went in and there were the little monsters on the bathroom counter top playing in the water, they also turned on the light!!
