Here's a picture Arlene sent of Ali picking up his new member of the family. Sounds like they had a nice visit. Congratulations, Ali! Great shot and you are going to have a lot of fun in the kitten stage!

I feel so bad for Ali, he had a rough time getting back home from here.. His return flight was canceled and he had to drive the whole way back to L.A in a rented car!! He had to drive straight through to get to work that next morning !! He did the full 900 miles after being up all day and also not sleeping well the day before .. he was so excited to come and had to be at the air port by 5:00 AM to get here., so he went a few days with out sleep! I'm sure as soon as he feel a little back to normal we will hear from him again and if he can figure out how to post pictures he will do that too.. I just don't understand why we all have so much trouble with that

Glad Ali made it home okay, sounds like quite the adventure. We drove straight home with Scooter too, 13 hours. He was not a happy kitten, and let us know about it all the way...

Yes, Ali is a DR. But they need sleep too.. maybe more so .. He did say his little buddy was so good on the trip, he slept in his lap a lot of the time but he made him so warm and sleepy he had to put him back in the carrier so he would keep him awake , my guess is he didn't like being in the Carrier either, and made a lot of noise just like Scooter..

Hello, everyone, thanks for all your welcoming words. I definitely had an adventure, Dan, as you put it, and my buddy was great most of the way. But when I dropped off the rental car at LAX and took the bus from the drop off to my car in the parking lot, he just started screaming "mad". Everyone in the bus kept looking at me funny. I figure my little buddy had had it. I got him home, put out some food, and he just went right to sleep for the rest of the day. I wish I could have done that, 'cause I was sure tired. The next day, I went to a couple of shelters and found a little guy, part Russian blue, part mutt, at a great place called No Kill LA, where they had most of the older cats hanging out in a wonderful room with furniture and the kitties behind glass rather in cages. The little fellow I picked up had four siblings, but he just curled up in my arm and started purring and I brought him home. I kept the two apart for the first couple of days, and then introduced them to each other. They've been inseparable ever since. Sure they rough house A LOT!!! but then they curl up and go to sleep together. I've taken a few photos, but Arlene, you were not kidding, this little DL is very speedy, and I have a hard time catching him long enough to take a photo, except of course when he's just waking up for sleep. Here are a few I'm sharing: As for their names, my little buddy the desert lynx is Cooper and his shelter friend is Cash in honor of one of my favorite singers of all time, Johnny Cash. Thanks again Arlene for bringing this beautiful buddy into my life:

Ali, glad you made it home. Selma seems like it's not that far, but it grows exponentially when you have a new kitten in the car with you. Scoots would sleep (a little) as long as we had music playing. Tried some XM talk radio to keep us awake, that was a fail. He started right back up until we changed back to a music channel...
Good for you getting a rescue kitten! Our first cat Forrest, came from a shelter. He was my best friend for many years, and had an unbelievable personality. We were looking for another rescue cat before we found Arlene & Scooter. That time around, we just couldn't find one in any of the shelters.
Ahhh, The Man in Black. He is one of my all time favorites as well. I remember listening to him sitting on my Dad's knee 40 years ago. His last albums, the America series send chills up my spine. Hearing that familiar, but aging voice, do a Nirvana tune is just mind blowing.
Glad you got Photobucket to work. It's changed a bit since I posted the instructions, but is overall pretty easy. Love seeing the pictures, thanks for checking in and posting them!

Ali, you brought a little light to my very dark life today.. thank you for sending the pictures, it helps. Yesterday I held my baby "Trip" and he left this world in my arms.. I'm having trouble dealing with his lose, so are the others in the house, they just keep looking and calling for him.. so please excuse me for not being on the forum. I'll try and get it back together, just for now I need time.
