Well, it's official. No cups or glasses left on any surface ever again unless it's plastic. We always new that Gizmo has a fascination for pushing things off a coffee table, like Ron's bottle of water and my bottle of water in the office. But this one was way too dangerous for me! Emma has been known to do it and the last time she did, she dumped my pen pot off my desk! REALLY Emma!!! Today, someone jumped up on the island and pushed an empty GLASS onto our tile floor! Well, it exploded and little shards went EVERYWHERE!!! You know these kitties. They were all over it sniffing. I had to yell at them to get away. Didn't want anyone to get a piece of glass in their paw. I'm just glad I was home at the time.

I guess this is another DLX trait.
We have a bar in the kitchen with two bar stools. It separates the kitchen from the great room actually, so it becomes the catch all for keys, mail, pens, glasses etc. Scooter will sit in a bar stool and eyeball everything on the bar. If he's seen it before, like keys that are familiar to him, he leaves it alone. But, if it's something new, he'll wait until we are not looking, and hook whatever is up there with one 6-toed paw and drag it onto the floor for further inspection. Once he's satisfied with what it is, we can put it back and he'll forever leave it alone.
We've actually done "experiments" with different item. We'll sit five things we know he has seen up there, and one new thing. He sorts through them, and will only knock the new thing down. Kinda amazing, actually...
Side story: Our old cat Forrest was a chow hound. That cat was the exact opposite of finicky, he'd eat anything and everything. Sugar made a pan of lemon bars once in a giant glass baking dish. Knowing he's get into them if we left them out, she covered them with Saran wrap, put them on top of the refrigerator, and we went out. When we got home, the glass dish was exploded all over the kitchen floor, and all the lemon bars were gone. Forrest was laying on the couch, his belly looked like he was pregnant, and he had this embarrassed, and miserably full look on his face...

Yeah, sorry guys, they are brats! I can't count the number of times my crew has knocked a glass off of the table, counter, or where ever we put one.. of coarse they break a few in the kitchen and the rug under the coffee table is for ever needing to be shampooed what ever we have in the glass ( mostly water) goes on the floor and carpet! Now what really gets me is they also love to drink out of our glasses.. as for Big Stuff, well he not only drinks the water but he also dunks his paw in the glass and then licks the water off .. BRAT! But I love him so he can do whatever he wants and knows it
