We had a super hectic holiday season, for sure. Left for Kauai on December 17, and got back just before New Year. I performed a wedding for Tiff & Zach, Belle's parents (bet ya'll didn't know I am a Ordained Minister, did ya?) in Kauai. Had a blast, and went snorkeling on Christmas Eve. Also adopted a stray at the home we stayed at. We named her Pearl, and all took turns feeding her for the duration of our stay. It was quite a shock when we got back to Las Vegas, a cold front had blown in. Imagine our surprise getting off the plane at midnight in 30 degree weather! Everyone works New years Eve, we were on from 8:00PM to 6:00 AM. Cold, exhausting, but still fun. There's no shortage of craziness, and I love chatting with (mostly drunk) folks from all over the world. Estimate was 350,000 visitors, and the work bike and I am now appearing in plenty of tourists photo albums. I got sick on 1/1/15, and have been fighting a nasty cold. It's pretty much gone now, looking forward to a fun, prosperous and healthy 2015 Here's a few of Hawaii pics. The Reverend Dan, with bride and groom. Sug and I on Christmas morning in Kauai, and Pearl looking for a handout...

It sure looks like everyone had a great time.. congrats to Tiff & Zach! Glade you and Sugar could get away and enjoy some fun.. Kind of half expected you to say you brought the stray kitty home with you !! Actually, we did talk about it. One of the guys that was staying at the house is a Cat Guy too. He lives by himself in Cleveland, with his cat Sigourney. He became Pearl's main feeder and friend. We almost had him talked into it after a lot of alcohol was consumed. There is a big problem with stray cats on Kauai, and the local animal shelter works with airlines to arrange transportation off of the island. Alaska Airlines will actually let you bring a dog or cat for free, as long as you don't have a connecting flight. They have a deal set up with some shelters in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and a couple of other arrival cities on the mainland. All you have to do is sign up with the Kauai Animal shelter, and they do the rest. You arrive at the departure gate, tell them you are traveling with a stray. The animal shelter in Kauai delivers the animal, and calls the arrival cities shelter. When you land, there is someone there to receive the animal. You never even see it. They do this as the adoption rate is higher in the selected arrival cities on the mainland. Pretty cool deal. The animal shelter in Kauai is beautiful, it's one of our stops for a tour every trip. We look at all the animals, and leave a small donation. An entrepreneur left a huge donation many years ago to build the shelter, and there was enough money to support it for several years. They spent the money wisely, and all the pets live in wonderful conditions, compared to most shelters.

I was also waiting for you to tell us you were bringing Pearl home. Being an Ordained Minister comes with it's perks I see Dan. Congratulations to Tiff and Zach! We had a very nice Christmas. Two dinners back to back. Eight of us each night so both were nice and small and everyone was able to have a nice visit. I'd do that every year but with a day of rest in between....getting old! New Years was quiet with just Ron and I. I think think we fell asleep in our chairs before midnight
