Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since I was active on this forum. My life has been moving at such a rapid pace, and I have at times felt rushed, overwhelmed, manic, exhausted, all at the same time!! Now that the Holidays are officially here, I feel like I'm getting a chance to catch up with my life. I have missed checking in here regularly, although I do read from time to time some of the postings on my phone as I whiz from one appointment to another. I moved in with my partner in April into a new apartment. I ended up having lots of construction issues with my old house, so I've spent the last eight months and all the money I could borrow fixing it up so I can sell it. It's been a huge project, but I'm happy to say the house is done and it looks great, and it better sell well, so I can pay off everything.
After we moved in together, my partner developed serious asthma, and the doctors attributed it to the cats, which was really difficult for me to digest. He'd never had this problem with my other cat, although at that time he was only visiting me on weekends. I thought long and hard about what to do. After all the different medications and remedies didn't work, I had to come to a painful decision about what to do. A great blessing occurred that my younger sister and her husband both adored the cats and I decided to have them be the primary guardians of the cats while I get to visit them every couple of months. They live in the Bay Area and have a wonderful home and I am really happy to see how much love these cats have brought to their home. They had decided a long time ago not to have children, but when I see my brother-in-law playing with the boys or my sister holding them both in her lap, I realize the joy that these cats are bringing them and that makes me happy, although not a day goes by that I don't miss the two little guys. I made sure that my sister and brother in law are well aware of all the precautions and they keep them inside except for when they go out together in the back yard. And they are one happy bunch all of them, in a way that makes me feel really good since my sister has had a rough time over the years, and I can see that the boys are really teaching her how to let herself love them and be loved back.
I think I've been embarrassed about showing up on this forum without my boys. You have all been so supportive and I really appreciate you Dan and Jackie for emailing me all the information about how to address Cooper's biting. He's doing great now and has not chewed on anything for months. I have a few pictures of them, some from my last visit in October and some my sister just sent me a few days ago. Cooper is incredibly beautiful. He's smart and curious and just has a way about him that everyone falls in love with him. He's super friendly and greets everyone. Cash on the other hand is more shy and it takes him a while to come up to you, but boy he's also a bundle of love. My sister has started calling him Casper, so now it's Cooper and Casper.
I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday filled with love, good health, and abundance. May the new year bring you all what you most need in your life.
