Hey Arlene....this is kinda embarrassing but I have to ask. Remember when Emma and Blue were little, before they were fixed, I had said that Blue was mounting her? The vet had told me that he would stop after he was snipped. We he hasn't and it's driving me crazy!!! He chases poor Emma down, bites her neck to hold her and does 'his thing' while she's crying. He's not doing it right which is GOOD I find myself watching him cause I can tell when he's in the mood. Then I squirt him. Is there anything else I can do....will he grow out of this? Has any of your cats acted like this? Gizmo doesn' seem to be interested.....thankfully.

As long as your not the one doing it there is no need to be embarrased :-) Actually, yes I have several that will try and breed a female but the girls usually just smack them and they quit. I think my having un-fixed females around ( outside in the cattery) give them the urge from time to time.. the boys will sometimes even do it to eachother !! But only for a few minutes untill the ''under dog' get's pissed and lets the other one have it :-) Then it's just a big game of tag.. I think he will out grow it, anyway he can't do anything really and will soon figure it out.

Oh Brother!!! Ok....I get it.....they are animals with no social graces...hahaha. My sister Mickey in Calgary had, at one point, 11 cats and 5 dogs. All rescue animals looking to be adopted but never were. She told me of one of her kittens that was taken from his mom too soon and would suckle onto another male cat you know where! Well that topped my story to the point where I'm now feeling lucky! Pretty sure Emma is getting another bladder infection so I'll take her in this week. Then I can weigh everyone too! Giz is really catching up to Blue. Blue is still tall and very lean....you can feel his back bone. Emma is still a chub chub and a hair ball compared to the boys Thanks for your input!! Breeding anyone these days?

Jackie.. I just wanted to add.. that behavior can also be a form of dominence.. Blue could be trying to tell Giz that Emma is HIS sister.. and his property ( just like a man) :-) Anyway I know some of my boys do it to each other and I don't think they are in love.. just one telling the other that they are the boss.. or top cat :-) Perhaps Blue want's Emma to know as well that he is still the king of his castle, so don't go thinking Giz is all that and a bag of chip's:-)

When Scooter was still a kitten, Jenny terrorized him to no end. She let him know from the get-go that this was her house, and we were her people. What Jenny didn't realize was that Scooter was going to grow up. Now, Scooter is twice Jenny's size, and he has not forgotten being picked on. Now, Jenny will curl up next to me on the couch, and go to sleep. Scooter will see her, jump up and clamp onto the back of her neck. He's not hurting her, just puts his mouth around her neck until she gets the message and moves. He'll take her spot, and she will sit on the floor with her back to us, pouting. Cat Karma, I guess...
