Ahh my poor boy, so moochy ended up getting crystals and is now on royal canin s/o. My other boy doesn't have the problem while they ate the same food, I was feeding them blue buffalo but now I need to find a new food brand thats low in ash..mooch is feeling better but the prescription diet doesn't have alot of vital nutrients and as my vet said he cant stay on royal canin too long. Anyone have suggestions? Whats working for your fur babies

I feed a mixture of Orijen, Evo & Taste of the Wild.. the only one with ash in it is the Evo and it is 8% ash.. so not sure what % of ash is allowed.. but both "Taste of the Wild" and "Orijen" have no ask listed. Orijen is very expensive but it is so good, actually is the highest listed cat food.. wish I could afford to feed it only but with 20 cats, no can do At least I mix them together and let the cats pick out which one they like best.. usually all the "Orijen" is gone first. So sorry Mooch has a problem,, did the vet say what caused it? It could be the Blue Buffalo, I have heard from others that they have had a problem with that brand, and they are also often on the contaminated food list.. I hope he recovers soon..

They said it was diet related, I have no problems with spending money on good food and care for them they are like my children haha. I think I'm going to give the orijen brand a try, they aren't too picky when it comes to food. I wish I had 20 cats!! the company they give you is unlike anything else. Im definitely staying away from blue buffalo! Thank you

We also use Orijen. We feed our four cats the "cat and kitten". Our dog gets the "whitefish blend". They are all happy with it. Our Vet also highly recommends it. Good Luck

Have his blood sugar checked. Forrest used to get this all the time, and he eventually developed diabetes. I'm not saying the two are necessarily related, but it sure wouldn't hurt to check. It's a simple test, and inexpensive...
