Ok, so today I'm venting :-) I just sent back a man's deposit on the 2 kittens of MeMe's and Monster.. man some people!! I was talking to him on the phone because I hadn't heard from him as he does not seem to answer my emails or have anything to say about the kittens when I sent the weekly pictures.. so anyway.. he had purchased 2 kittens from Cyndi a few years ago when she was breeding. The one male was ground up in his car motor and the female just didn't come home one day.. so he promised me that he would never let these 2 out.. then when I was talking to him he let it slip that he thinks the cat's should decide if they go out or not and his grand kids ( age 5 & 7) love to take the cat's out side to play with them !! Well. me being me told him I was sending his $500 deposit back!! He was not getting my kittens, they are not play toys for such youg children nor are the kittens capable of making the dession of weather they should go out and play!! I have just sent their pictures off to the next people on my waiting list, they are all owners of my kitties so I KNOW they will have a good home.. man..some people just make me want to shot them.. sorry Dan, I know your a cop :-) but this should be considered justified homicide?? Ok, I feel better now :-)

Yup, and after crying to me that he just lost his wife to cancer and was so missing his beloved buddy.. wha, wha.. wha.. I fell for it, he also at first told me he had learned his lesson about letting them out to roam..and then now he tell's me he thinks the cat's should deside if they want to go out !! I came un-glued.. so he is out!! JERK!! Still fuming but feel so much better :-)

Oh Arlene!! That must of just crushed you for how he neglected his babies!!!! People in my circle of friends have the opinion of letting the cats roam as well but I just tell them that I'm not a fan of cats killing birds, robbing ground nests and using my neighbours gardens as their litter box. Plus they are so unique...of course someone's gonna pinch one if they could. That usually shuts them up. Gizmo is a stinker when it comes to trying to get out every time Ron goes out the back patio for a smoke. As soon as he knows Ron is going to open that door, he's there like a shot

Yes, it is so dangerus for them.. so many people don't like cat's, they will aim at them with their car's, even put out poison, not to mention dog's, hawks, coyote's and so forth.. just so much that can happen to them.. scary. I wouldn't worrie about Blue, I have a few like that as well, I have fat one's and skinny one's, he will fill out.. just going thru that teenage thing :-) Now if he starts to not act right, then that's something else.

Dan and I are firm believers of cats staying indoors unless they are on a harness and with us. We did teach both Jenny and Scooter to swim, since our pool is right out the back door and should one get out and fall in, we wanted to be sure they could get out of the water. We will leave the glass slider open when we are sitting on the patio, but actually neither cat has any desire to leave the house. Arlene, good for you for sticking to your guns and not sending that idiot another kitten..people like that don't deserve precious loving pets of any kind....breaks my heart to hear how the one cat died...how awful!! And hopefully, the one who did not come home found a family that is taking great care of her like she deserves!!

Stealer SO wants to get outside now but I do not want him out there. Having lost cats in the past (when I was younger and didn't know any better) I like to know where my cats are when I come home. While our property is large the busy street is right next to the house and I just know he would head out to the street. Plus, we'd have no wildlife left in the neighborhood.
I am seriously thinking of fencing in the front porch to let them get some air, though. He keeps running out the back door and then running back in once he's out since it scary (which I encourage!)

Neither Scooter or Jenny have any desire to head out the back door..which is awesome. I have seen in the cat catalogues the enclosed play areas that you can put outside for them. It's all mesh so they can see out but they cannot get out. Some of them are huge! Thought about getting one for both the kids, but Dan says it would send Jenny over the edge..hmmmm..(just kidding)
