Even though we have a whole basket of cat toys, it seems Scooter's absolute favorite thing to play with is nuts. More specifically, pistachio nuts. He just loves the shape, and I think the noise they make as he bats them across the tile floor.
But, inevitably, he knocks them under the something, and we end up having to lift furniture to get them back out for him. Normally, he will crouch down on his belly, stick his 6-toed paw under and try to get his nut. He can only get it under a couple of inches, so it's usually a fail.
Last night though, he finally thought about it and figured out how to retrieve his lost nut. He actually looked at it under the love seat for 15 minutes or so, and finally rolled over on his back, reached under, and snagged it...
He continually amazes both of us how smart he really is. He'll literally think a problem out, and then solve it.
Planet of the Apes? I don't think so. Planet of the Desert Lynx, is a much more likely scenario...
