Are my cats pointers rather than DLX?

I've been meaning to ask you all if you have any cats who 'point'? I've 2 out of the three dlx cats who point - with a leg! If Zu or Hazzie want me to do something, they will get my attention, then stroll over to whatever they want - the door - food - etc and then they will stretch out their front leg - usually the right one and kind of do a modified 'down dog' with their paws pointing toward whatever it is......I don't know if I've somehow encouraged them to learn this or if it's natural as I don't remember when they DIDN'T do this LOL Then I got curious about whether other ones have cats that point? I'll try to get a picture but I never think of it when they're doing it.

Wow....cool! No our gang doesn't point but they do play fetch!

Scooter will do something similar from time to time. He'll reach out, curl up a big paw and do a dragging motion back towards himself, with the paw in the air. More like, "I want that, make it come to me."

Gosh, I never noticed if any of mine 'point'.. they do the same as Dan said Scooter does.. mine will kind of point but drag the leg back as if trying to pull it towards them..

I'm going to try and see if I can video it - it's just so hard to describe it. Zu is the queen of this. Thanks for answering tho - I have a feeling that it's similar to what you Arlene and Dan are talking about.

Stealer isn't much of a "pointer" but he is a "grabber" like Scooter.

He also has this habit, when he wants something that he shouldn't have, of squinting his eyes so they are almost closed, meowing at me, and doing it anyhow. The little stinker.

I swear, he's worse when it comes to defying the human than ANY cat I've had (and honestly, I find it rather amusing - but don't tell him!)
