Well, Simba is hard at work :-) I had first put Tarzan in with Cappi.. she sure didn't like him one bit.. poor guy he is so sweet.. he just ran and hid from her :-) I found them in the morning with Tarzan still hiding in the crate with Cappi guarding the way out.. each time he tried to get out she just whopped him up side the head so he went back in.. so that doesn't work, so I put Simba in and she just wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a good bath then they got down to business :-) This morning they were both just sleeping together so when I opened the breeding area door to go in Cappi ran out and Kiki ran in ! So Simba woke up.. took a look and went right to work again in her so I guess these next two litters will be Simba babies.. Bear wasn't in the mood either.. I put him in the area first but he just went up on a shelf and went to sleep.. with Simba he calls the girls to him and if they get with in striking distance he will grab them :-) He doesn't mess around and for sure they would not back HIM into a crate :-) He doesn't take any thing from them.. usually Bear is also very aggressive when it comes to breeding, but he was just not in the mood.. maybe i need to go to the store and get some oysters??? So in about 2 months I will be pulling my hair out with 2 due at the same time.. I might just let them do it together in the craft room and raise them together.. I did it once before and they all had a ball. The mom's would nurse both litters and of coarse the kids all played together.. I was lucky one of the litters were all Snow leopards and the other wasn't so I didn't get them mixed up as to who was from who !

Ok, I'm bummed out again.. this is a re-occurring with breeders.. we are either happy with the new babies or bummed about something else.. this time I'm bummed because MeMe wasn't pregnant! She came back in season so I re-bred her the end of last month and fingers crossed she will conceive this time! As for Sedona, it doesn't look like she is preg either.. I have her in the house because the other girls were sniffing at her all the time so thought she ''could''have one in there.. hard to tell when there is just one.. so she is due on Monday and decided to not go for a ex-ray and just keep her in for a week and see what happens..sigh.

WHOA NELLIE!! 59 people were on our forum this morning?? I hope they all enjoyed it.. but not one left us a message.. I have a sad day today.. living in the country has it's advantages but it also has it's sad side. We have had a family of fox on the property. A few nights ago Kim & I were watching ( with the cat's) thru the front window in the front yard, the family of fox.. mom, dad and baby kit were having so much fun running, leaping and just playing in the front.. We have enjoyed watching them from time to time just going by but to see them playing as a family was really wonderful.. Well last night we heard horrible screaming and fighting going on, Kim got up, turned on the porch light but couldn't see anything.. this morning we found a hind leg and fox tail in our pasture It appears to have been a adult.. guessing it was the momma trying to protect the baby but we don't know.. we will just miss them

Not sure.. could have been a coyote family or those dang raccoon's. They are so mean, they will charge you if you go out at night.. hissing and bearing their teeth.. But I put my money on the coyote's. :-/still no sign of any member of the fox family

That is sad.
We have kit foxes here, but you rarely see one, they are about the size of a cat big house cat. Lots of coyotes, but there are lots of jackrabbits for them to eat too. No raccoons, thank Gawd. I hear they are nasty, and destructive pests, to boot...

You heard right, raccoons can be really bad news. The ones we have are now climbing the tree's at night and are killing ( eating) the birds and their babies right out of the nest ! Tear thru the garbage can's.. just real pest.. they will fight the dogs as well if they are out at night.. I know they carry rabies so not thrilled to have them. We used to put out live traps to catch them but we got tired of everyday taking a few traps out and up to the mountains to turn the loose.. it was a non stop thing daily so we just gave up.. Now Kim has decided he might have to start shooting them with BB's and see if it will keep them away.

I know, their nasty.. but I just want to scare them..All they have to do is cross the street, there are thousands of federal forest acres to go play in !! There is one little female with 2 babies... she is so cute. I went out with the BB gun and she sat on her hind legs and put her hands in the air , then she put her little front hands together ( like she was praying) and pumped them up and down .. it was like she was praying for me to not shoot her, the whole time the little ones were holding on to her.. so I just shot next to her.. just couldn't hit her.. I know, I'm a old softy
