Hey Arlene Ron and I have been concerned about Blue lately. He's so tall and skinny! We can feel his ribs, hip bones and spine easily. He has gained all of 2oz in the last 2 weeks so I guess we shouldn't be too concerned right? Gizmo on the other hand is bigger than the both of them @33 weeks than they were @42 weeks These are the latest stats: 33 weeks Gizmo - 10lbs 8oz 42 weeks Emma - 10lbs 2oz Blue - 9lbs 8oz 64 weeks Emma - 11lbs 6.5oz Blue - 10lbs 6oz Attachments:

I love the picture of the kids Jackie.. they sure are pretty if I must say so myself :-)
The rubber mat with the lip on it doesn't have a name on it... so I can't tell you who it's made by but you can find them in most pet stores. It has little cartoon pictures of dogs and cats on it..They don't slip and the lip on them sure does keep the water off my floors. However I do have to dump it out every once in a while.. ok daily !!

I'll let Arlene chime in with more knowledgeable advise, but have you tried switching food for Blue? Both Scooter & Jenny are pretty finicky on what they eat. We tried the high end super healthy expensive foods, and neither one care for it much. Sugar now buys Friskies dry food and inexpensive canned food for a treat, and they plow through it... Great pic, btw! They don't like to be left alone, do they?

OK, so I'll chime in :-) I have found that the best food for these guys is "Chicken Soup" Yes it is a dry kibble and not canned soup :-) You can read about it at www.chickensoupforthecatloverssoul.com I have tried so many others and find that they either throw up or have a problem with loose stool .. I even tried to mix some of the cheaper food with it to help with the expense but went back to Chicken soup only and what a difference it makes in them.. You can only buy it at feed stores and not super markets or pet supply stores.. once you read the ingredients you will know why.. If you want to give them some canned food as a treat it's fine.. Some of them need canned meat to help with their bowel movements if they need it but other wise it is the best I hand.. also be sure to not give them any cows milk.. as they can only tolerate Goat milk.. When on the Chicken soup they also make less poop as they absorber what they eat. Sorry Dan but I do not approve of "Friskie's.. Kim's mom had "Spider" ( one of my cat's) and he just died of kidney and renal failure, vet said it was the food, he was also on Friskies.. Kim's mom said he just loved it but it is full of dye's and artificial flavors, they do like it but it isn't good for them..

Thanks for the advice!!! They sell that food here in Nanaimo!! Yippee, and only a 5 min drive from home I cannot believe that we were paying $45.00 for a 10lb bag of cat food. Your brand is $14.00 for a 6lb bag!!!!! Your brand is half the price! Sure hope it helps our Blue Boy. He has the best disposition...loves his dad and just flops on Ron's Carharts when he's watching TV. I'll keep you posted

I have had my cat's on the Chicken Soup for many years.. it's never been recalled because they raise everything there and do not buy from China or elsewhere.. it's all natural. They absorb it and use most all of it.. very little waste for the litter box :-) You know how many I have to do so it makes a big difference. I do feed the kittens Iams kitten chow because I can't always get the Chicken Soup kitten formula, so instead of changing them back and forth I just give them the Iams..

Hummm I buy the 18 # bags.. 2 a week, and I pay between $28.00 to $32 a bag depending on the store I can get to.. I try to get to the big town :-) For it because it is cheaper there but then I have 24 cats to feed so I need just a little bit more then you do each week :-) Of coarse Mr. Big Stuff eats more then his share, but he is very healthy, not fat so I let him eat how ever much he wants.. who's going to stop him :-) My oldest cat is now 15, and she is so healthy.. they have all been on it for at least that long.. Hope it helps Blue.. I know the rest will do good on it as well. Did you read the ingredients??Really good stuff..

Hi Everyone! Been a while since I've been on and for that I apologize. Dan frowns at me for not chatting with everyone, but when you spend 10 hours a day staring at a computer screen (I'm a Credit Analyst which is a fancy title for a bill collector) the last thing you want to do is hop on the computer. Although I must admit my weakness it Spider Solitaire to wind down after the day, which REALLY makes Dan frown...he calls it "Stupid Game"... but this is the man that got me hooked on "Angry Birds"!! HaHa!!
I've had Jenny and Scooter on the "Natural's" food for several months and it seems to be just to their liking..although Scooter will pick every one of the little square designs out of the bowl and leave them all over the kitchen..if there is one flavor of any food that does not suit his palate, he will pick it out and leave it on the rug that is under the food bowls. Picky little bugger and what a mess he makes! Scooter can trash the food bowl area in about 30 seconds! As Dan said, he is solid as a rock.
But..I need some expert advice regarding Jenny. She as you all know is our "ferrell child", Dan brought her home when she was 5 weeks old and she just turned 7 on the 4th of July. Recently we are having a terrible time with her using our bed as her litter box...we have tried everything to get her to stop. We are starting to lock her out of our bedroom completely. The litter box is kept prestine and I bought one of those giant ones from PetSmart so it would accomodate both cats and with Scoots as big as he is, he really needs room in it. The litter is always fresh but she has decided lately not to use it. HELP! Could it be a urinary track infection or just the fact that she is onery as all get out and just showing us her nastier than usual side? The vet told me never to bring her in again, the last time I had her in she bit two of their technicians and they had to put a muzzle on her. I'm open for any ideas at all..

Hi Sugar.. well, it sounds like a infection to me but first.. is there anything that has changed in the house.. sometimes they do it when they are not pleased about something.. I would have thought if she was like that, that she would have done it when you brought Scooter home so I would say you need to find another vet and get it checked out... but then she is Jenny and a bubble off plum as well as not wrapped real tight :-) Poor girl :-) Tell your vet to wear gloves if he/she has a problem dealing with cat's..Mine has very heave glove's used for falcon's.. he needs them on occasion when he has to examen Tarzan and Tarzan is just not in the mood :-) Funny thing is Tarzan is my cuddle boy, just as sweet as he can be ( with me ) :-)
I've been kind of out of it myself lately.. found out I have Mainers Disease.. it really sucks.. so I have good days and bad days.. also Kiki had her litter of 4 but one little girls didn't make it so I've been in the dumps and kind of blue.. but I do have 3 new cuddles to play with for a while.
